Health Care Refrom Increasing Taxes

As nation sinks farther into a state of economic despair and crisis, many politicians are trying to push health care reform upon the already taxed-to-death people. Sure, health care for all sounds wonderful on paper and political commercials, but what does it mean for the average tax payer? Or the average small business? How will these new health care reform laws affect us—will it be positive or negative? We have been promised so many things about how our lives will change, our this country will experience change, but are all of these changes for the betterment of the politicians or the people?

The first change that we will experience is higher taxes. We have to be able to pay for the health care reform bill which means everyone will be taxed eventually. Many people on welfare cannot afford any new taxes. Neither can the struggling middle class or small businesses—people cannot afford the bear the burden of more taxes! While we know taxes are necessary, we  do not need new taxes coming out of our paychecks every week to pay for this new health care reform program.

Another change we will soon see is that if everyone is required to have health insurance, what if someone still doesn’t have it? Well, thanks to our elected officials, people without health insurance will have to pay fines for their lack of health coverage. Again, the people will have to pay for their inability to afford health insurance. What happens when small businesses can’t afford to give their employees health coverage? Those small businesses will fined too. In the end, we are going to be the one’s paying for the health care bill through more taxes. This is not helpful for a struggling economy. We need to find better ways that will help health care reform without more new taxes.
