(Title VII)


Two-Tier CACFP Reimbursement Structure. Meal reimbursements for family or group daycare homes in the Child and Adult Care Food Program CACFP) will be restructured into two tiers. Current-law rates will continue for family or group daycare homes located in areas in which at least 50 percent of the children are in households that are below 185 percent of the poverty level, or are operated by a provider whose income is below 185 percent of the poverty level. Family or group daycare homes that do not meet this criteria will receive reduced meal reimbursements. Reimbursement rates will be adjusted on July 1, 1997, and each July 1 thereafter to reflect changes in the consumer price index.

Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). The bill reduces the SFSP reimbursement rate for breakfasts, lunches, and snacks starting January 1, 1997.
