Since solid waste and recycling contracts are typically long term, solid waste and recycling professionals often have limited experience with procuring and drafting contracts for these services. A successful procurement and contract can facilitate a long-term partnership that provides a reliable and quality service within the community. The discussion will include overview of key technical provisions, considerations to reduce cost of service, and much more.
After completing this course, participants will be better able to:
- Describe key solid waste and recycling contract technical provisions.
- Identify ways to reduce solid waste and recycling cost of service via the procurement and contracting process.
- Describe an overview of the procurement process and schedule for solid waste and recycling services.
This program offers 0.1 CEU credits for the one hour presentation portion of the program. The final half hour, discussions in the lounge area is optional.
