Having seen a significant increase in homeless camping, the City of Eugene Public Works found itself at the forefront for addressing immediate needs and finding long-term solutions. This work ranges from mitigating impacts of illegal camping to creating partnerships that allow homeless community members to help care for the public spaces they use. The challenge is to find a balanced strategy for keeping public spaces clean and safe for the entire community.
