Public works are the essential, often invisible services that sustain and connect our communities—yet there is a significant disconnect between the critical work that public works agencies do and the public’s understanding of its complexities. From maintaining roads and bridges to ensuring clean water and waste management, public works is the backbone of everyday life. However, most citizens are unaware of the full scope of these services, and public works is often only thought about during times of crisis. This project seeks to bridge that gap by developing strategies, tools, and resources that increase public awareness, foster engagement, and build long-term support for public works efforts.
