In this session, attendees will learn what central control is relative to irrigation management and how it can address inefficiencies in managing landscape water use. We will also address flow monitoring, which can be managed by central control. We’ll look at weather-based programming and remote monitoring in a central control and water budget forecasting context and demonstrate how these elements can save water, labor, and overall operational costs. In the face of ongoing drought, rising labor costs, and staffing issues, creating irrigation system efficiencies is crucial. This session provides tips and tools to implement those operational efficiencies, using less water and less labor to save money. After this session, participants will be able to:
• Explain the concept of central control in irrigation management and how it can address inefficiencies in managing landscape water use.
• Demonstrate how flow monitoring can be managed by central control.
• Explain how central control concepts can be implemented in their organization to save water, energy, and labor.
