Agencies large and small need weather information as part of their winter operations. There is a lot of weather data freely available to anyone, however when you feel that your operations have outgrown “free,” where should you start? This presentation will share two perspectives, one from the maintenance side and one from the meteorologist side. The presenters will go through the early steps of getting started all the way to road weather data being used by an agency in their decision-making process. This is not just some theoretical discussion, the two speakers partnered together to achieve the necessary results for the agency. This session is perfect for any size community ready to expand their use of weather information but unsure where to begin. The presenters want to help you develop a plan, suggest ways to remove roadblocks, and eliminate any doubts so you can get your agency better weather support.

At the conclusion of this session, participants will be better able to:

• Develop a plan to use more weather information in their agency.
• Remove roadblocks and other challenges to assist them in reaching their goal.
• Increase the use of weather information and tools in their agency.
