Waymo – formerly the Google self-driving car project-has expanded its autonomous vehicle ride-hail services throughout the Bay Area; now providing more than 500,000 paid autonomous rides per week across 11 cities in the U.S. This talk will examine Waymo's growth and development over the last 15 years, provide an overview of current operations, and answer questions about how the autonomous technology safely navigates through the region.

Dan Pritchell leads Policy Showcases at Waymo, demonstrating the safety and accessibility of autonomous vehicles for elected officials, regulators, and other dignitaries. His expertise in this field is built upon more than five years as City and Community Engagement Senior Manager at Nuro, where he worked with local governments in California, Arizona, and Texas on deployment of Nuro's delivery services with autonomous zero-occupant vehicles. Earlier in his career, he co-founded Sheprd, a child transportation startup, and worked on various political campaigns. Dan holds an MBA from UCLA Anderson and a BA in Political Studies from Pitzer College.
