In addition to his role as Technical Director, Leadership and Management, Chris Anderson acts as the Board of Directors Liaison for the following national committees: Leadership and Management Committee, Workforce Development Committee, and the Canadian Public Works Association.
Anderson is the Public Works Manager for the City of West Kelowna, British Columbia, Canada, where he serves as the administrative leader for the city’s water supply and treatment, water distribution, wastewater collection, roads and drainage, construction, fleet, and solid waste divisions of public works. He has held this position since 2016.
Anderson first became engaged with APWA as a member of the 10th class of the Emerging Leaders Academy in 2016. Shortly after his ELA experience, he began serving as an at-large board member for the British Columbia Chapter, culminating in his election as chapter president in 2021 and 2022.
Anderson has served on the Leadership and Management Committee from 2021–2026, including time as Chair from August 2024–August 2026. Key initiatives from his time on the Leadership and Management Committee include adapting and expanding the Emerging Leaders Academy programming and leading the development of the Supervision, Management, and Leadership frameworks. He has also served on the Canadian Public Works Association Board since 2025.
