The supply chain crisis has compelled fleet managers across the country to get creative to solve certain problems that they may have taken for granted in the past. The nationwide difficulties in procuring new or replacement vehicles and equipment are particularly acute and can sometimes test ingenuity to the limit. In this session, we will discuss equipment repurposing and refurbishing efforts to help fleets bridge the gap during the extended and uncertain waits for replacements to arrive.

Learning Objectives

After attending this session, participants will be better able to:

  1. Identify practical alternatives that would work in lieu of new replacement vehicles.
  2. Critically examine old or retired equipment that could be given a “second life.”
  3. Think more creatively about the normal vehicle replacement process.
