Vehicle/equipment replacement lead times continue to be years, and we don’t know when or if they will ever return to pre-Covid timeframes. Changing our perspective and seeing these extended wait times as opportunities instead of challenges can improve your fleet and ensure you are at the forefront of your customer’s needs. During this program, hosted by the Fleet Management Committee, panelists will discuss the importance of setting realistic expectations for customers, utilizing these challenging times as an opportunity to right-size your fleet, and identifying ways to extend the life of your current fleet. Panelists will examine best practices for dealing with these extended lead times and what other agencies are doing to improve delivery times.

Learning Objectives

  1. Identify specific methods to reduce your equipment/vehicle replacement needs.
  2. Explain strategies to right-size your fleet to reduce total replacement needs.
  3. Discuss strategies to lengthen the replacement life span of your current fleet to help bridge the replacement gap.

This program offers 0.1 CEU credits for the one hour presentation portion of the program. The final half hour, discussions in the lounge area are optional.
