APWA’s Workforce Development Committee is partnering with the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service (VETS) to provide an overview of the VETS program and the opportunities to hire veterans in public works departments and local governments nationwide. This group of valuable potential employees could fill critical and key public works roles. Join us to learn more about this important opportunity to meet your workforce development needs.
After completing this course, participants will be better able to:
- Identify the benefits of hiring veterans.
- Describe opportunities ranging from on-the-job training to apprenticeship programs to internships and sponsored work placement.
- Identify resources provided by VETS to employ veterans, service members, and military spouses.
