Get Approval to Attend

PWX will welcome more than 5,000 public works professionals from around the world to McCormick Place® in Chicago. PWX provides a world class immersive learning experience designed for professionals at all levels and across the entire spectrum of public works, as well as North America's largest exhibit floor for public works equipment and services.

You know why you should be there–now it’s time to convince your supervisor/elected officials to provide professional and financial support. We can help with that!

What You Can Do

Download one of our justification letters to fill out and share with your supervisor. Use the general letter or a version with additional customization.

Review the PWX Education Schedule and outline for your supervisor the sessions that would be beneficial to your professional growth and to the organization.

Create a list of short and long-term goals and find the sessions, workshops, or other specialized learning opportunities that would help you achieve them.

Explain the kinds of connections and relationships you will be making at the event and how they will benefit your organization.

Why You Should Attend

At PWX, you’ll have the opportunity to visit one-on-one with representatives from more than 400 exhibiting companies, across approximately 250,000 net square feet of exhibit hall space. Learn about the latest Solutions and Services offered through 40 CEU-earning sessions taking place in the exhibit hall and discover the newest innovations in the past year at the New Product Showcase.

Network

Building relationships is key to growing the network of people you can turn to when facing emerging challenges. The Snow Conference consistently brings top public works leaders together who are willing to meet you and share knowledge and insights.

Learn

Choose from more than 175 education sessions and workshops on everything public works including new strategies in funding and budgeting, career development and workforce solutions, asset management, emerging technologies, stormwater, sustainable practices, emergency preparedness, and planning for livable communities. Then, take the knowledge you gain and invest it back in your team, your agency, and the community.

Represent

Represent your public works agency or organization and return with a contact list of individuals and vendors you meet, and an outline or report of every session you attend. You can pass along what you’ve learned by presenting it to your team.
