To recognize National Public Works Week 2020 during the COVID-19 crisis, the City of Santa Ana Public Works’ team under the leadership of Nabil Saba (Executive Director of Public Works Agency) created a video highlighting vital agency services that sustain the community’s high quality infrastructure. The video is narrated by APWA Member and Civil and Traffic Engineer, Monica M. Suter.

The following are annual statistics for the City of Santa Ana’s Public Works Agency:

  • Responded to over 200,000 publc service requests;
  • Removed 170,000 graffiti incidents;
  • Repaired over 2,200 potholes;
  • Maintained and monitored:
    • over 450 miles of streets,
    • 479 miles of water mains,
    • 400 miles of sewer mains,
    • 48,000 sewer laterals,
    • 1,800 stormwater catch basins and culverts,
    • 8,000 manholes,
    • over 50,000 City trees,
    • and 300 traffic signals;

In celebration of National Public Works Week, the City’s Public Works Agency also treated ALL City employees to ice cream and frozen fruit bars from Santa Ana Veracruz Ice Cream and Andrades Paletas on Friday, May 22, 2020 while ensuring compliance with physical distancing and face-covering protocols.
