Harry Weed served many public works roles in communities across New York before retiring in 2015. Throughout his career, Weed was an active APWA member and leader of the organization. He served on APWA’s Board of Directors, as well as the Emergency Management Committee and Facilities & Grounds Committee. He was president of the APWA New York Metropolitan Chapter and chaired the chapter’s Government Affairs Committee. Weed was named one of APWA’s Top Ten Public Works Leaders of the Year in 2008. One of Weed’s favorite things about working in public works is that every day offers a new challenge or opportunity to make an impact.
