Preparing a Successful Master Plan: It takes Two – Planners and Operators. Master plans, and the resulting capital improvement plans, are the basis for public works programming. Operations staff are critical team members in any master planning process. This presentation will provide an overview of why we plan and the data used in water, wastewater, and stormwater master planning. Then we’ll dive deeper into the data and how operations staff can plan and arrange to collect data in their daily work and improve the planning process. Finally, two case studies will be presented: one by a small city and another by a medium-sized city.
