Larry Hummel has been involved in the public works profession for more than 30 years in the public and private sectors. He served as the Michigan Chapter President in 2013, and has represented the chapter as the Delegate to the Council of Chapters since 2014. With his leadership the chapter has moved forward with improving its educational programs to the members within the state. Hummel also serves on the chapter’s Past President’s Advisory Committee to the Chapter Executive Committee.

At the national level, Hummel currently served on the Transportation Committee. He also chaired the Road Safety Subcommittee, and was liaison to the Front Range Community College Highway Maintenance Management Associates Degree program in Colorado as the APWA representative. He represented APWA on the AASHTO Safety Committee as the Transportation Committee representative. He has also served on the National Nominating Committee.
